On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate a remarkable woman who has been a driving force in the world of softball in Ireland. Since founding the Suspects Softball Club in 1996, she has been a passionate advocate for the sport both in Ireland and internationally.
Alacoque’s leadership has spanned roles such as Treasurer of the Irish Baseball Softball Federation and former President of Softball Ireland. Her dedication to the sport has taken her and her teams all over Europe, to Italy, France, the Netherlands, and more, as well as to New Zealand and Hawaii for over-35s tournaments. She’s also the driving force behind the long-running Pink Blitz
in Dublin, one of the most beloved events in the softball calendar, which has been supporting local charities for over 20 years.
Alacoque’s commitment continues as she embarks on another term as the President of Softball Ireland, bringing her knowledge, vision, and tireless energy to the role. As we celebrate this year’s IWD theme of “Accelerate Action,” we celebrate Alacoque’s ongoing leadership and invaluable contributions toward shaping a brighter future for softball in Ireland.
