National Squad Coach Appointed
Softball Ireland is happy to announce the appointment of the new National Squad Coach and his team.
Heading up the new program will be Pat Reddy as Head Coach. Pat has more than 15 years experience in Softball in Ireland and more than 10 years international involvement.
Other members of the team are:
Offensive coach: Adrian Crowe will take up the position of offensive coach. Adrian has been involved in the National Squad program for more than 4 years and he plays in the Premier Division of the Leinster League as well as being part of the founding group for Softball Munster. Adrian has been part of the Softball Ireland coaching program for the last 2 years and has also been part of a previous national squad management team.
Defensive Coach: Moera Flett is a welcome addition to the National Squad team. Moe grew up with a glove in her hand-playing fast pitch softball from the age of 8 years old. On moving to England she adapted her skills and began playing Slowpitch Softball. She has represented Great Britain in both Slow Pitch and Fast Pitch Softball, winning many medals including European Gold medals. She currently lives in London and plays for the London Chromies. She has plenty of experience in the coaching side of things also, passing on her knowledge to the U/16's GB Fastpitch team where she has been the assistant coach for 2 yrs as well as coaching slow pitch to individuals and local teams in London and Windsor Maidenhead for the past 4 yrs.
Manager: Michelle Hayden will take up the logistical support for the team and will handle the back ground work essential for making any team function. Michelle has seen more than 4 years of international participation with both the National Squad and the Danny Boy Benchwarmers
Softball Ireland would like to wish Pat and his team the very best of luck with the National Squad Programme as we head towards the European Championships in 2013.
