Softball Ireland (SI) is seeking to appoint a dedicated Slo-Pitch National Team Manager who will assist in developing, leading and delivering the Slo-pitch element of the Softball Ireland 2017-2020 High Performance Plan and Performance Targets for the 2017 and 2019 European Championships campaign and beyond. The National Team Manager will report directly to the High Performance Commission. He/she will be responsible for leading and managing a team of dedicated High Performance Coaches and Support Staff including a National Slo-Pitch Head Coach, to deliver on the SI High Performance Vision.
We are looking for a Manager who will share the following vision:
Long-term perspective: We are committed to a long-term Performance Programme focussed on recurrent success, not just one European Championship cycle;
Systematic: Our goal is to create a ‘system’ that is capable of developing the full potential of all our High Performance athletes repeatedly rather than one-off successes based on specific Players;
Medals: Our Slo-Pitch programme aspires to deliver European Championship medals;
People: The High Performance Programme will be centred on the people within the system – athletes, coaches, support staff, and administrators – and developing their capability to ensure that they reach best in class standard for the good of the programme;
Cross Programme Integration: The Slo-Pitch National Team Management and coaches will work closely with the Fast-pitch Senior and Junior National Team Management to ensure both programmes complement each other;
It is important to note that while we are committed to a two tournament cycle and long term sustainability, there is a clear expectation that agreed annual targets with the High Performance Commission will drive and underpin short term success and development.
Applications should be made by submitting a cover letter, a comprehensive CV (including list of coaches and their relevant experience), and a personal statement addressing the essential criteria listed above and why you believe your skills, experience and values meet the requirements of the position. The application should also outline what are the key area’s for Slo-pitch High Performance development the candidate would like to see included in the High Performance Plan.
Application packages to be emailed to president@softball.ie
All applications will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Closing date: 1700 GMT Friday 30 September 2016.
